About Us

"Dharwak" is our initiative to provide a platform for the Santal community to share their stories, voice their concerns, and connect with each other. Through our channel and blog, we aim to bridge the gap between scattered cultures, discuss contemporary issues, and share major news from their lives, Dedicated to celebrating and preserving the rich heritage and culture of the Santal people. We are passionate about bringing the stories, traditions, and challenges of this vibrant community to the forefront, ensuring their voices are heard and their legacy is cherished. A Proud Heritage of Santal are one of the most significant tribal communities in India, standing as the third-largest tribal group in the country. Predominantly residing in the Santhal Pargana division, they form the largest tribal community in Jharkhand and West Bengal. With their roots spreading across four countries and six Indian states, the Santal people are a testament to resilience and cultural richness. According to the 2011 census, the Santal population numbers 6,783,946 across Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, Assam, and Tripura. Beyond India, their presence extends to Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan, with significant communities enriching the cultural tapestry of these regions. Despite being scattered across borders, the Santal people maintain a strong sense of identity and unity.
